SAN JOSE: Researchers at IBM have stored and retrieved digital 1s and 0s from an array of just 12 atoms, pushing the boundaries of the magnetic storage of information to the edge of what is possible.

ibm.gif   The findings, being reported Thursday in the journal Science, IBM was creator of first computer called IBM Mainframe which was based on work of famous scientist Von Neumann. All computers like Mainframe, Super Computer, Mini-Computer and low end PC still works on Von Neumann's architecture. He used to work with Albert Einstein also and has contributed many fundamental laws in modern science. I won't explain his model here due to space constraint.

IBM patented more than 4000 research papers with new innovations in 2010 while HP was at 2nd place with around 40 and Microsoft was in single digit. IBM was the creator of PC technologies from where laptops and tablets also branched off. IBM invented new Power7 CPU which is almost 100 times more powerful than Intel's most powerful processor. Last year IBM's Watson Power7 based AIX 7.x Computer with an Analytic software defeated 2 most intelligent game players in a game called Jeopardy.

IBM scientist Benoit Mandelbrot helped in communication from USA to Europe who was inventor of Fractals meaning dimensions having fractional non-integer values. For example trees and mountains has such kind of dimensions. IBM believe in beautiful world which reminds us famous proverb "A Thing of Beauty is Joy Forever".
