Regulators do not accept “we think the number is right.” Yet that was uncomfortably close to where this institution stood each reporting cycle. Filings were assembled by hand from a dozen disconnected systems, core banking, trading positions, the general ledger, custody feeds, each with its own format and its own version of the truth. Analysts spent days reconciling, copying figures into templates, and hoping nothing had drifted between sources.
It was slow, it was error-prone, and worst of all it was nearly impossible to audit: when a regulator asked where a number came from, the honest answer took weeks to assemble.
The challenge
Could the institution produce its regulatory reports from a single validated source of truth, reconciled, lineage-tracked, and generated automatically, so the close took days instead of weeks and every figure could be traced back to where it came from?
The approach
We built a validated data warehouse that ingests every relevant source, reconciles them against each other, and tracks the lineage of each figure from origin to report. On top of it, the platform generates the institution’s regulatory filings automatically, with validation checks that catch problems before a human ever sees a draft.
Trust in a number is just lineage you can follow. We made every figure traceable from filing back to source.
The outcome
The institution now generates dozens of regulatory reports automatically from one validated warehouse. The reporting close dropped from nine days to two, the validation pass rate sits near perfect, and every figure carries the lineage that makes an audit a lookup instead of an investigation.
Reporting stopped being a scramble. It became a button.
The same validated-warehouse foundation now supports new reports and analytics on demand, a new regulatory requirement or internal metric draws from data that is already reconciled and lineage-tracked, rather than starting another manual assembly from scratch.
